Cheesy Sausage Penne

I have had this recipe in my recipe box for probably years.  I am so glad I finally made it!  This was a wonderful dish!  I asked the family how they liked it and Hogan's only words in between mouthfuls were 'LOVE IT'!  He had second helpings.  Everyone else really enjoyed it also.  It's a wonderfully creamy Italian-style dish that you could easily serve for company with a nice dinner salad and maybe some Texas garlic toast.

Cheese Sausage Penne

Ingredients:
1 pound sausage browned with about a teaspoon or two of minced garlic
1 26-oz jar spaghetti sauce
1 pound penne pasta
1 8-oz package cream cheese
1 cup sour cream
2 tablespoons dried minced onion
2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded

Instructions:
Brown sausage in a large skillet with one to two teaspoons minced garlic, drain grease then add spaghetti sauce and bring to a boil.  Reduce to a simmer for about 20 minutes.  While simmering cook pasta in a separate pan and drain.  In a small bowl combine cream cheese, sour cream & onion.
In a greased 9x13 pan (or you can use a 3-quart casserole or larger) layer 1/2 pasta, 1/2 sausage, 1/2 cream cheese mix then cheese.  Repeat layers then bake uncovered at 350 for 30 to 35 minutes.
